As many of you have already heard, the Alexander family experienced a devastating fire early Sunday morning. The most important news is that Peter, Lori, Jake, Ben and Pokey, their basset hound, all escaped unharmed.
Unfortunately, their house and most of their possessions are beyond saving. Many families of the Oak Hill and Zervas communities have been asking how they can help. We wanted you to know that a special bank account, named "The Alexander Family Benefit Account," has been established today by Toni Bryan. If you would like to contribute, please make a check out to the "Alexander Family" and either drop it off in a specially marked box at the Oak Hill or Zervas School offices, or mail it to:
The Alexander Family Benefit Account
Attn: Jessica Straggas
Rockland Trust
40 Austin Street
Newtonville, MA 02460
Funds raised for the Alexanders will go toward purchasing food, new clothes, and basic household items they will need as they rebuild. Dinners have been arranged for the family by Rachel Chafetz.
Thank you once again for showing what caring communities we have in
Newton.
